復元ひながた小袖事業とミニチュア制作
七代永治屋清左衛門は、
桃山時代〜江戸時代末期までのおよそ260年間につくられた小袖を研究し、復元するというプロジェクトに携わってきました。
「染技連」という京都の名だたる名工たちが多数参加する職人集団のなかで主に生地を提供する立場として参加。
唐織、辻が花、縫箔、絞り、友禅と至高の技術を費やし
およそ30年の月日をかけて行われた緻密な２分の１スケールでの小袖制作の一翼を担いました。
2001年には米国ロサンゼルスのカウンティミュージアムで「能と小袖」展を開催しています。
日本国内では
銀座かねまつホール、新橋演舞場、横浜シルクセンター国際観光貿易会館、代官山ヒルサイドテラスにて特別展示を実施。
小袖は単なる衣服ではなく、時代ごとの美意識、技術、そして物語を伝える貴重な文化財です。

The Kosode Prototype Restoration Project and Miniature Production
Shichidaime Eijiya Seizaemon (Seventh Generation Eijiya Seizaemon) was involved in a project to research and restore kosode (a type of traditional Japanese garment, the precursor to the kimono) created over a period of approximately 260 years, from the Momoyama period to the end of the Edo period.
Participating as primarily a fabric provider within the craftsmen’s group known as “Senshiren,” which included many renowned master artisans from Kyoto.
Utilizing the highest techniques of Karaori (weft-float weaving), Tsujigahana (resist-dyeing), Nuihaku (embroidery and metallic leaf), Shibori (tie-dyeing), and Yuzen (paste-resist dyeing), he played a part in the meticulous production of the kosode in a one-half scale (1/2), a project that took approximately 30 years to complete.
In 2001, the exhibition “Noh & Kosode” was held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in the United States.
In Japan, special exhibitions were held at Ginza Kanematsu Hall, Shinbashi Enbujo Theatre, Yokohama Silk Center International Trade and Tourist Building, and Daikanyama Hillside Terrace.
Kosode are not merely garments; they are valuable cultural assets that convey the aesthetic sensibilities, techniques, and stories of each era.
We aim to preserve and transmit this wonderful culture to the present day, creating opportunities for more people to appreciate its charm.
