グローブトロッター　永治屋清左衛門　コラボ商品の紹介

英国の老舗鞄ブランドグローブトロッターと

永治屋清左衛門が家庭画報特選「きものSalon」誌40周年記念企画で、

コラボレーションした特別限定品を発表いたしました。

　40個限定の制作です。インナーに、亀甲繋に唐花丸文様を織り上げた唐織を使用。

この記事は永治屋清左衛門が復元制作した徳川美術館所蔵の源氏物語絵巻の「宿木」の

十二単を参考に織り上げたものです。

　源氏物語は英国でも約100年前に翻訳出版されて以来のロングセラーで、

知名度のある日本文学であることから話題になりました。

　鞄のボディカラーは生糸の白さを想起させるパールホワイト、

コーナーパーツに上品なスティールグレーを組み合わせたシリーズは、

英国では即完売しプレミアムなコラボ商品になりました。

The long-established British luggage brand, Globe-Trotter, and

Eijiya Seizaemon announced a special limited-edition collaboration product

for the 40th-anniversary project of the Kateigaho Tokusen “Kimono Salon” magazine.

Only 40 pieces were produced. The interior lining uses Karaori (Chinese weave)

featuring a pattern of kikko-tsunagi (tortoiseshell pattern) and karahana-maru (Chinese flower circles).

This fabric was woven based on the jūnihitoe (twelve-layered ceremonial robe) from the

“Yadorigi” chapter of The Tale of Genji Picture Scrolls, owned by the Tokugawa Art Museum,

which Eijiya Seizaemon was commissioned to reproduce.

The collaboration became a topic of conversation because The Tale of Genji is a well-known

Japanese literary work, a long-running bestseller in the UK

since its translation and publication there approximately 100 years ago.

The series, combining a pearl white body color reminiscent of the whiteness of raw silk with

elegant steel gray corner parts, sold out immediately in the UK, making it a premium collaboration product.
